Companionship & Support
According to Age UK, almost a million older people in the UK go for more than a month without speaking to anyone. It has been found that many of these people don’t necessarily need a lot of help, but would sometimes like a companion to support them during various activities: someone they can chat and discuss things with, at home or out-and-about.
If there’s room in your life for someone like that, we can help. One of our team of support workers can visit you or accompany you and add a vital human element to your day. They will become a trusted, friendly face, someone to share your interests with, while offering companionship.
Our companionship service is most suited to individuals who will benefit from having the reassurance that someone is there with them for company and to offer support if it is needed. It also provides peace of mind for family members, who are unable to visit as often as they would like, knowing that their loved one is being cared for.
Our support workers do not wear uniforms for this service.
Our companionship service is individual and very much tailored to meet your current and changing needs.
Some of the activities that our customers enjoy with a companion include:
- Companionship and conversation
- Share in hobbies
- Visiting neighbours or friends
- Country walks
- Walking the dog
- Support for health appointments
- Attending shows, plays, cinema or other social event
- Out for a coffee
- Meal’s out
